Edifying One Another

"Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” I Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)

Edify – Uplift Enlighten Encourage

This is the shepherding arm of the Beulah’s ministry motivated by authentic Christian love, this department seeks to manifest Jesus by declaration and demonstration. The goal is to create a caring community that cares and relates to one another in celebration and sorrow. We bare the imprint of the hands of Christ who was wounded that we may be healed.

Edify One Another consists of the diaconate, the first of the ranks in ordained ministry, the Deacons and Deaconess; Prayer Ministry; the Culinary Ministry; the Visitation Ministry and the Sacerdotal Worship Ministry. These ministries are vital to the care of the church members and the members of the community.

The Diaconate

In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.” I Timothy 3: 8 & 9 (NIV)

Members of this group are appointed by the pastor. The primary role of the Deacon and Deaconess is to provide spiritual leadership by ministering and serving the members of the church. The purpose of deacons/deaconesses is to serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church - doing the work of benevolence, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation - and by promoting unity within the church, thus freeing the pastor(s) to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, and facilitating the spread of the gospel.

Visitation

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” Acts 20:28 (NIV)

This is a ministry of love and compassion to those who are shut in at home or the hospital. The goal is to provide care, concern, prayer and support to families in various stages places and circumstances of life.

Sacerdotal Worship

“For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 2:7 (ESV)

This ministry’s function is to provide the coordination and set up of the sacraments of the church. This includes Baby blessings, Communion and Baptism. This group also provides consultation, support and guidance to bereaved members and families by assisting with funeral arrangements.

Prayer

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

It is the mission and goal of the Prayer Ministry to unite with the vision of the Pastor and the vision of the church in prayer and supplication before the Lord, that he would release His supernatural power and that His will would be done, His people edified and His name glorified. The Prayer Ministry commits to praying for and uplifting the congregation of the church, the community, the entire Body of Christ, and people everywhere.

Culinary Ministry

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42

The Culinary Ministry is a team dedicated to feeding the flock. The ministry prepares and serves enjoyable meals to the church and community for special occasions (conferences, workshops, funerals, repasts, and meetings), while creating a comfortable atmosphere for Christian fellowship.
